GitHub Actions Adds Official Python 3.15.0 Support
GitHub has added Python 3.15.0 to its python-versions repository, allowing developers to run automated tests against the new release within GitHub Actions.
GitHub has officially added Python 3.15.0 to the actions/python-versions repository, bringing the latest stable release of the language to the platform's automated testing infrastructure. With this addition live, software developers can update their GitHub Actions workflow configurations by adding "3.15" directly to their testing matrices to execute continuous integration runs against Python 3.15.0.
Developer Simon Willison noted the deployment after actively tracking the repository for the stable release. To monitor when the update landed, Willison instructed ChatGPT to clone the repository at https://github.com/actions/python-versions and run a git pull command every hour until the stable Python 3.15 release appeared.
The integration of Python 3.15.0 into the standard repository streamlines environment setup for software maintainers. By enabling the version directly in setup workflows, developers no longer need custom installation workarounds to validate their codebases against the Python 3.15 runtime.
