Developers have released Talorys, a self-hosted personal AI assistant built to operate within an individual's Cloudflare infrastructure. Deployed with a single command using Node.js 22 or higher—npx create-talorys@latest—the platform runs on Cloudflare's free tier without requiring external databases, paid servers, or central telemetry tracking. The automated installer provisions a React frontend hosted on Cloudflare Pages and pairs it with a private Worker powered by the Cloudflare Agents SDK.

The assistant features conversational chat, project organization, notes, and scheduled reminders. Text generation and function execution are handled through Workers AI running the @cf/zai-org/glm-4.7-flash model with full support for tool calling and streaming Server-Sent Events. Personal preferences and durable memories are stored in an embedded SQLite database hosted on a Durable Object, with only necessary entries attached to model prompts. Automations and recurring digests rely on Durable Object alarms, eliminating the need to maintain an active server connection or background process.

For practitioners, Talorys offers a zero-cost, private assistant framework secured by PBKDF2-SHA256 password hashing and a 256-bit session secret. Configurable safeguards limit daily AI calls, output tokens, and context window lengths to help users stay within free allocation limits. If the daily Workers AI quota is exhausted, core productivity features like tasks and notes continue working normally until allocation resets. System administration includes single-transaction JSON backup exports, while updates preserve stored state and existing database namespaces automatically.
